This is what the interior of Kintaro looks like. Although the interior has the atmosphere of a Showa-era corner bar, it is not difficult to enter, and you can easily stop by for a drink even by yourself.
It was a weekday evening after 5:00 p.m. and I was the only one there. First, I ordered a Senbero. Here is the drink menu of Senbero.

It was a hot evening after the rainy season, so I ordered beer and five kushikatsu skewers. After all, a hot day is not complete without a glass of ice-cold draft beer.
replacement for the Senbero. It’s quite interesting, isn’t it? And it is hot in Okinawa! I downed our first beer in the blink of an eye as it evaporated, followed by a second beer. The second beer and the five kushikatsu (skewers) I had ordered arrived.
I drank the second glass of beer in no time and ordered a highball for the third glass. On this day, I simply enjoyed Senbero and left.
On another evening, I went to Kintaro again to enjoy Senbero. On this day, too, the first drink started with the standard beer.
Chicken cutlet was chosen as a snack for Senbero. Beer goes further.
I was hungry that day, so I also ordered fried chicken skin and a mini beef egg bowl for dinner. This is the fried chicken skin.
This kind of thing is bound to accelerate the beer even more. And here is a mini beef egg bowl. I say “mini,” but it is not that small, and the volume was enough to satisfy me when I finished off the meal.
For Senbero’s third drink, I ordered “Uchinan Shochu”. It is an original shochu liqueur with the aroma of shell gingko leaves wrapped around a traditional Okinawan rice cake called “Kasa-moo-chi”. It was the first time for me to drink shochu with the scent of shell ginger. Thanks for the drink!

Kintaro is a senbero izakaya located in Matsuyama, downtown Naha City. It is attractive for its casual atmosphere, where you can drop by even during the daytime on weekdays. Because of its location, I thought it would be a great place for tourists to enjoy as well.
