Kikuya is located in a quiet residential area of Naha City Oroku. It is about 5 minutes by car from Naha airport, and it is about 7 minutes walking from monorail Oroku station, so I think that it is easy for tourists to visit. The inside of the shop is a homey atmosphere, and the atmosphere of a friendly Okinawa soba shop is drifting. There are counter seat, table seat.
This is Kikuya’s menu. I think that it is easy to understand for tourists from foreign countries because there is a photo.
Unfortunately sold out the famous “Yushi tofu seaweed soba” on the day I visited. So I ordered “Kikuya soba set” that you can eat three types of meat including Soki, Cartilage Soki, Three Meat. What kind of taste is Okinawa soba with 100 meals a day only? I was looking forward to it.
This is a Kikuya Soba set. It is a great deals with juicy and Earl gray tea. First, I drank a soup. The thick umami of pig bones and bonito spreads in my mouth. It was finished in delicious soup plus the umami of vegetables in the umami of bonito. It was a thick soup with umami, but it was a refreshing taste with less fat. This was pretty good! The noodles match well with this delicious soup. Soki, cartilage soki, and three pieces of meat were carefully cooked and seasoned. Juicy was also easy to eat, it fit well to Okinawa soba. Okinawa soba, traditionally made carefully, Earl gray tea after eating was also delicious.

A retreat-oriented Okinawa soba restaurant nestling in a quiet residential area about 5 minutes by car from Naha Airport, Kikuya. Okinawa soba with 100 meals a day only is a simple soup which blended pork bone and bonito section and vegetables. The shop owner returns to the origin of Okinawa soba, it is a piece of whole body made by trial and error. Because it’s a handmade soup sparing time, it seems that it can not make as much as 100 meals a day. I would recommend Kikuya to those who would like to enjoy Okinawa soba in a quiet atmosphere.
