We had a drink at the famous gyoza restaurant “Okazu no BENRIYA” in Sakae-machi, Naha City!

Along with Makishi Market, Sakae-machi is the mecca of downtown drinking establishments in Naha City. Sakae-machi is a traditional downtown area in Naha City, and at night, it is filled with a variety of bars and pubs. I had not been able to go out for a drink because of the Corona disaster, but I went to Sakae-machi for the first time in a while. Since we had not been able to go out for a drink due to the Corona disaster, we went to Sakae-machi for the first time in a long while and had some delicious beer with some delicious gyoza at the famous gyoza restaurant “Okazu no Benriya”.

Benriya is located in Sakae-machi. Sakae-machi has many stores and is very complicated, so it is best to check the location with Google Maps beforehand.

It is a restaurant with a downtown atmosphere, where you can eat and drink at tables set up on a small street in the shopping arcade. The street in front of Benriya looks like this. You can’t get enough of this downtown atmosphere!

First, a toast to Okinawa’s Orion Beer!　The cold canned beer soaked into my body!

And if you come to Benriya, you can’t miss their specialty, yaki-gyoza (grilled dumplings).

First, I tried it as it is without sauce. The juicy gravy overflowed from the dumpling filling, and it was so good! The dumpling skin was crispy yet soft, and the filling was so juicy that I could drink as many beers as I wanted. The dumpling skin was crispy yet tender, and the filling was juicy and succulent.

And speaking of Benriya, along with yaki-gyoza (grilled dumplings), they are also famous for their xiaolongbao. First of all, I tried it without sauce. Just one bite of the dumpling was enough to make the juices overflow out of the skin. It was so good! It was a snack that made us beer go down the drain. It is indeed a famous restaurant that has been around since long ago from Sakae-machi.

And this is the Shrimp Shoronpo. The plump shrimp was so rich in flavor that we could drink as many beers as I wanted! It’s been a while since I’ve had a good time drinking in Sakae-machi, and I was glad I did!

The famous gyoza (dumpling) restaurant and Okazu no Benriya has been located in Sakae-machi, a downtown shopping street in Naha City for a long time.
